Chomsky is, as far as I know, not, and let me stress that, not a socialist. It`s only obvious, he has been brought up in a democratic capitalism, he has made a career under the circumstances that such a state purports on him and his ability to suggestively apply that will of being, so I think he is, in social and citizenship terms, a capitalist, for he can only be such inside his circumstances. I`ve read he tends to lean towards intellect, obviously, so I believe this is a man who can actively think in many ways, he can observe scientifically the goods that come from whatever the establishment see as bad. Now, practically speaking, this man can only observe and empirically approach these subjects, not objectively, for he hasn`t ever relate himself with any political propaganda, but subjectively, and perhaps in doing so he hopes some of us are able to use the information he has gathered, digest and project with a bit of his own ideal into something that can help us to realize certain aspect, like the stagnation of state when it`s not self-aware of the reality of human error. Socialism, feudalism, capitalis, etc., all intended to manage human behavior in a social level, we are been guided towards tendencies, and this is fact, no one here is trying to elevate any of these peculiarities, what Noam Chomsky and those of us who intend to value observation by amassing it and divulging it`s findings, is that the world, our experiences and all that happen changes, and these changes affect us, and some times are done with certain interests, and that these interest are done to lead us somewhere, where is that? Only time and will will tell.

“Public schools” are good? “Privatization” of Social security is financially ridiculous? People are afraid because of manufacturing?
Responsibility to help people do “this” themselves?? We are freer now?? Not indoctrinated!? … I really don’t see what is here intelligent!

Comsky makes some good points but he can’t help but show his true colors. The man is a socialist. He wants to enslave us to his ideals which is NOT how things work in the USA
