These women talk about what it was like, how they felt and if it brought any consequences to their lives. I don't see how there can be "healthier alternatives" to it. Abortion is a choice that every woman should have. We live in a sexist world and men do not suffer the same impact with it as women do: we have most of the same obligations plus the maternity ones, they don't. To have a child sometimes is to give up a career, if not, to not be there for the child's life. Better to have an abortion than to be an absent mother. Some of the women talked about their feelings of depression and shame after they had the procedure done. If abortions made these women feel powerless and ashamed, how is that pro-woman? I am not anti-abortion, but I also feel that more information should be given to the woman before the abortion and that "healthier" alternatives should become known to women. Men also should step up and take their role as a partner in child-bearing. If a woman must choose between education and their child, and not able to have both if they desired, that's not very feminist.
